Fault text Ignition cylinder 8, activation
Fault description Ignition Coil 'H' Primary Control Circuit/Open
Condition for fault identification Test condition: Current on PIN A_S_ICC too low with active ignition pulse
Terminal condition: TERM87
Voltage condition: Battery voltage > 9.8V (k_diag_tr_ub_min)
Condition for fault memory entry 8 operating cycles
Action in service 1. Check plug and wiring harness at M ignition coil
2. Replace M ignition coil as indicated
Fault effect and breakdown warning CC message
Engine speed limited
Reduced power
Rough idle
Driver information Warning light: MIL, EML, CC message, backup program
Service instruction None

Condition for fault identification Test condition: Voltage at PIN A_S_ICC too low, ignition channel inactive
Terminal condition: TERM87
Voltage condition: Battery voltage > 9.8V (k_diag_tr_ub_min)
Condition for fault memory entry 8 operating cycles
Action in service 1. Check plug and wiring harness at M ignition coil
2. Replace M ignition coil as indicated
3. If shorts to ground are entered for all cylinders check fuse for TERM87 power supply
